What
is nanoXplorer?
nanoXplorer
is a software application for the Java Platform that enables the design, simulation, visualization and communication
of nanodevices and nanosystems. We call it essential software for the nanotechnology workgroup.
Who
should get nanoXplorer?
As
nanotechnology begins to move from research labs onto the engineer's desk, there
is a need for tools to aid design and engineering processes. nanoXplorer fills this need. If you work with nanotechnology as a researcher, scientist, student, engineer or product designer you will find many useful capabilities in nanoXplorer that support the process from conceptualization to commercialization. nanoXplorer enables researching the state-of-the-art, capturing design concepts with precision, analysis and simulation of those designs and sharing within a workgroup. It is perfect for academic departments, research labs, and commercial workgroups.
What
is a nanodevice/nanosystem?
A
nanodevice may be thought of as a man-made macromolecule with a purpose and can
range from a relatively simple construct, like a nanotube, to an extremely complex
"nanobot" capable of performing any number of tasks. A nanosystem
is an integrated system of nanodevices.
Is
there documentation for nanoXplorer?
Yes,
nanoXplorer includes integrated help pages that can be access through the application's Help menu. Also, on the main nanoXplorer web page, you can find useful links that provide more information.
How
do I get nanoXplorer?
Download
nanoXplorer from our download web page and follow the installation instructions.
nanoTITAN provides a free evaluation period so you can see if it meets your needs.
How
do I use nanoXplorer?
The best way to learn how to use nanoXplorer is to install it and follow the tutorials and cheat sheets included with the progam. These can be accessed via the application's Help menu. Before you know it you'll be researching nanotechnology topics you never even knew existed and building your own nanodevice designs.
What
are the system requirements for nanoXplorer?
Java
SE 6.0+, a 3D graphics accelerator (OpenGL) and one of the supported platforms. More details can be found here.
Why isn't there a version for Mac OS X?
nanoXplorer IDE requires Java SE 6 or later and this version of Java is not yet publically available on Mac OS X. If and when that situation cxhanges we will reevaluate supporting the Mac OS X platform.
Where
do I send my comments/suggestions?
