Fat Fingers

Fat Fingers is a term used by Dr. Richard E. Smalley in rebutting Dr. K. Eric Drexler's assertions of molecular assemblers being able to fabricate autonomously, nanoscale devices.  The term fat finger used by Dr. Smalley was meant to illustrate the imprecision such an assembler would have in selecting and placing an atom to achieve a designed purpose.
